Forgiving the Fallen

Sermon for May 26th, 2019

Beyond the Tomb

During this series we want to look at the appearances Jesus made to people after the resurrection. We will find that even today we experience some of the same emotions and feelings. Because Jesus rose from the dead our eternity has been changed. Every day we can be reminded that the story is never over, and Jesus has something to say about our lives.

Week 5- Forgiving the Fallen

Today we continue the story from last week. As Jesus and his disciples sit around the fire and eat breakfast together, Jesus has a conversation with Peter. Peter and Jesus haven’t talked about the betrayal. I believe that this has weighed heavy on Peter especially after he told Jesus that he would rather die than turn away from him. But we all know the rest of the story…Peter drops Jesus like a hot potato. Jesus brings forgiveness and a charge for Peter and ultimately for all his disciples today. Maybe you need to hear about forgiveness today. Jesus says come to me all who are weary and burdened and you will find rest.

Listen to the message today and be challenged by God's Word.
